2m Repeater – 147.33+
Official Platte County SkyWarn repeater.
General Information
The 147.33 machine is located up a the National Weather Service Central Region Headquarters – up near KCI airport and is the official Platte County SkyWarn repeater.
The antenna favors the north to compensate for it’s location towards the southern end of the county. Tests have shown it will provide excellent coverage over most of the county and beyond.
Installation of the MSF-5000 was completed August 2010 - following the sudden failure of the Micor repeater – the performance has shown to be quite improved.
The MSF-5000 is controlled with an Arcom-210 and will soon have the PSTN module added for enhanced connectivity. Future plans may include Echolink and Allstar Link as well.
Coverage Area
Most all of Platte County – and areas north. Tests have shown generally good converage at 20 miles; with many reports well beyond. Extreme southern parts of the county are hit and miss due to the river bluffs.
